Artificial Intelligence (AI) is often described as the new electricity”. Data Science projects are complex and expensive to implement and funding in the government sector space for AI initiatives is still not commonplace. At the same time, many Data Science projects fail leaving one to ask how do you even get started?

At HISP-SA, we have the vision to expand our work in Artificial Intelligence, specifically Machine Learning and Chatbots, to increase the value chain to customers. We have prototyped a machine learning model to predict staff attrition in our HRIS (Human Resources Information System) work and how we utilise Machine Learning in the interoperable architecture to give the department a list of future attrition employees to intervene through activities such as preventing attrition, planning for replacement and training.

Macro-Eyes has deployed machine learning to generate highly accurate forecasts of essential medicines and vaccines in Sierra Leone. Macro-Eyes will discuss the process for developing AI driven forecasting models, the data used and how they were benchmarked.
